Singer, writer, producer and guitar player who lives in Taos, New Mexico, Romancito has made music since growing up in iconic Akron, Ohio in the early 1970s. Moving west to Portland, Oregon in the 1980s, she eventually made Taos her home in the mid-1980s, where she has performed in numerous combos and bands. Jazz, blues, soul and western swing make up Romancito’s song list, which is eclectic and long.
She began producing and recording music in 2005 and has created production music, movie soundtracks, music videos and fractal animation. She is also part of the collaborative network of producers that are part of the Creative Commons at CCmixter.org.
Besides producing electronic and experimental music, she performs regularly as a tenor banjo player and singer in Swing Dusters, a western swing dance band based in Taos, New Mexico.
Both Romancito’s parents were musicians and she hopes the family tradition continues. From lush ambient lullabies to Americana folk songs, Romancito’s music is grounded in a rich, personal landscape.
